Newton Meats was honored earlier this month for three of their products at the 80th Annual convention of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors. The local meat processor was named the Reserve Champion for their bacon, and BBQ Summer Sausage, and Reserve Grand Champion for their Summer Sausage. The Wisconsin Meat Product Competition is the largest of its kind in the United States, with 932 individual product entered into 36 categories. The scoring process includes the judging of external appearance and eye appeal, internal appearance, aroma and taste.
