A Sheboygan man is facing charges after he allegedly discharged a weapon through a wall last week. The Sheboygan Police were called to the 600 block of St. Claire Avenue last week by a caller who claimed he heard a loud bang and found a bullet on her dresser. The bullet had come through her wall from her neighbor, 35-year-old Joshua Hert’s apartment. The bullet had traveled through a lava lamp and became lodged inside another lamp. Officers were able to make contact with Hert, who claimed he was cleaning the firearm when the round fired. Hert has been charged with negligent operation of a dangerous weapon, which carries a maximum sentence of a fine of up $10,000, and up to 9 months of jail time.
