The selection of musicians, dancers, and singers for Kids From Wisconsin was recently announced. There are 36 musicians in the troupe that were chosen through a competitive statewide audition last February of approximately 300 students ages 15-20. Along with the 36, there are 11 Understudies chosen to learn the entire performance along with the Principals. These performers will begin their 15 days of rehearsals on May 17th to learn the fully staged, two-hour, Broadway-style performance that will be performed over 70 times this summer. Taras Nahirniak, the producer and orchestrator of Wisconsin’s iconic touring troupe said of the group, “The talent that came out to audition this year made selecting very difficult not only vocally but instrumentally. Wisconsin should be very proud of the music programs produced in their schools.” The Kids From Wisconsin are now in the 51st year of performing all over the state.
