In the past three years, Sheboygan County has surged ahead of the rest of Wisconsin in terms of labor force and employment growth. Sheboygan County added 3,941 employees to payroll during that time, although the exact causes of this growth are impossible to determine. There has been proactive movements by many organizations that likely caused Sheboygan County to capture more people than other Wisconsin metropolitan areas. Growth in labor force is first and foremost caused by an increase in employment and economic output. Sheboygan County did enjoy the 2nd fastest growing GDP in the state last year, second to only Eau Claire County. The strength of Sheboygan County employers undoubtedly had a positive impact.
