A West Allis man is the winner of the largest jackpot in Wisconsin Lottery history. Twenty-four-year-old Manuel Franco bought the winning $768-million ticket for the March 27th drawing at a Speedway in New Berlin. Franco came forward today to claim his prize and chose the cash option of about $477-million. He will receive more than $326-million after state and federal taxes. In a news conference conducted by the Wisconsin State Lottery, Franco said “to win feels something like a dream and I feel like at any moment I might wake up. I just can’t believe an ordinary guy like me would ever be in this position. As a winner now, I don’t plan on playing anymore.”. The winner deflected some personal interview questions but stated he would be making charitable contributions. When the subject of people asking for money was brought up, he said: “I’m ready and I know how to say no”. After realizing he had won the lottery, Manuel Franco quit his job 2 days later.
