The 2018 Eagles Club Manitowoc Officer-of-the-Year award goes to Eric Schultz. The announcement came from Police Chief, Nick Reimer, who tells us that Schultz was just hired by the M-P-D in July 2017 and has made an immediate impact.
Chief Reimer says Eric is a “terrific person and does a lot for the community.” He explains Schultz is “able to go out and resolve issues.” One example of this was when the Department received a “Dog at Large” complaint. Reimer explained that the cause was due to a hole in the fencing at an older individual’s home, so “…with permission, Eric went and got some fencing, and nails and a hammer, and put the fence back together and we haven’t had any complaints since.”
Eric Schultz will receive the award during a dinner at the Eagles Club on Saturday night, May 4th when recipients of the correctional, deputy and firefighter of the year honors also will be presented. Chief Reimer added, “The Eagles Club is very supportive of all (law enforcement) officers and we appreciate their support.”
