According to Major Jason Orth with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, the severe weather the lakeshore experienced over the past 48 hours has caused several accidents. Orth told Seehafer News that there were 10 accidents involving property damage, including one rollover in the Township of Cato on County Highway S. That vehicle was occupied by 4 juveniles, who all escaped without any notable injuries. Six other vehicles ended up sliding into the ditch, but there wasn’t any damage reported.
There were also several accidents in Sheboygan County over the past couple of days. The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department says that there were several cars that ended up in the ditch, but there was also one major accident that happened on I-43 near Cedar Grove. Unconfirmed reports indicate that a car struck a guardrail head on at around 1:00 Wednesday afternoon, and spun into the median. The number of occupants was not released, but we do know that serious injuries were sustained in the crash. No additional details have been released as of yet. The Sheboygan Police are also asking for any witnesses to a crash that took place yesterday morning at the intersection of North 25th Street and Superior Avenue to step forward. The incident occurred at around 8:30 AM, and the SPD are not entirely sure what happened.
