Waukesha Baby Dies Waiting For Liver Transplant

Hospital officials say a Waukesha baby with a rare immunity disorder has died while waiting for a partial liver transplant. The disease had destroyed Marcus McLean’s liver and his two-year-old brother has the same condition. He will also need a transplant. No family members qualified as a donor and the baby died while waiting for a stranger’s liver. The genetic disorder is so rare there are currently only 12 cases in the world.
