More than 300 people submitted their names to spend two minutes speaking to members of the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee Wednesday. The participants in a public hearing on Governor Tony Evers’ budget plan filled the Oak Creek Community Center for hours. Opinions were offered on how the 83-billion dollars should be spent over the next two years. Main focuses were on education, health care, and transportation, but criminal justice reform and funding for special education also came up. The next public hearing on the budget is Monday at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
