On Wednesday, Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels announced a development agreement with a Wisconsin Company to take over the former Manitowoc Cranes location. Today, Seehafer News learned that Alliance Laundry Systems informed employees in Ripon that the company had signed a letter of intent to acquire a manufacturing location in Manitowoc, Wis.
Alliance Laundry Systems, established in 1908, is based in Ripon and manufactures commercial laundry equipment. No jobs are expected to be lost at the Ripon location, while the new Manitowoc facility would add many jobs. A company spokesman for Alliance Laundry Services also said the jobs at the Manitowoc locations will be unionized.
Manitowoc’s Committee of the Whole met Tuesday night to discuss a proposed Tax Incremental Financing Agreement for of the Manitowoc Cranes Building. The Common Council will officially vote on the development agreement at their regular monthly Meeting April 15th.
