The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a baby boy discovered in a vehicle at a central Wisconsin hospital. Staff at Marshfield Medical Center reported a missing newborn Saturday and deputies later found the boy in the trunk of his father’s car wrapped in a towel and tied in a plastic bag. The child was revived but later died in the hospital. Officers say the baby was born in a home in the Village of Miladore but was not taken to a doctor. The 22-year-old mother and 19-year-old father are facing child neglect causing death charges and authorities are recommending a homicide charge against the mother.
