Rezoning Request 1st Step In Building ICE Detention Center In New Richmond

New Richmond city officials will host a public hearing about plans for an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center later this month.  A rezoning request has been submitted to clear the way to use a section of land for “institutional use.”  The Department of Homeland Security would operate the facility.  Though it would be in New Richmond, the specific located hasn’t been announced.
