On Saturday and Sunday, April 6th and 7th the Manitowoc County Miracle Rebels participated in the state Indoor Sports tournament at UW Oshkosh. In game 1 the Rebels took on the Wausau Wolfpack who they lost to at the sectional tournament. The Rebels won 34 – 24. Leading the Rebels was Dakota Wellner with 18 points, Travis Boettcher, Gerald Gauthier, Minoka Skenandor-Webster Veleke each added 4 points and Shawn Schwoerer with 2. In game 2 the Rebels faced the St. Colletta Bobcats the Rebels were victorious again in a hard fought battle with a score of 29 – 25. Leading the Rebels in game 2 was Wellner with 13 points, Gauthier added 6 and Boettcher, Jason Schwoerer, Shawn Schwoerer, James Spoentgen, and Skenandor-Webater Veleke with 2 each In game 3 the Rebels faced the Western Racine County Golden Eagles This game was the toughest game yet, going into overtime to decide the victor. Again the Rebels won with a 36 – 24 win, of which 12 points were scored in overtime. Leading the Rebels was Wellner with 17 points, Boettcher 11 (7 points coming in overtime), Jason Schwoerer 4, Shawn Schwoerer and Craig Woida with 2 each. With the 3 victories, the team earned the 1st place finish and a gold medal.
