To help celebrate National Library Week the Lester Public Library in Two Rivers & Manitowoc Public Library are partnering this week on a campaign. MPL Director Kristin Stoeger said it’s designed to support local businesses and urge people to shop locally. “The basic premise,” Stoeger explained, “is you go into any of our participating businesses, you show your library card…you get a deal from the business. Then you get a raffle ticket to bring back to one of the libraries, and get entered into a drawing.”
LPL Director Jeff Dawson added, “We run full circle. From the Library to the business then back to the library.” He also explained that you can enter the raffle by going into either of the participating libraries and “…sign up for a library card. That will get you a raffle ticket. Check out something. That will get you a raffle ticket.” Lester Public Library is in its’ 6th year of the promotion while this is the 2nd year of M-P-L’s involvement.
