The Manitowoc Public Safety Committee will meet tonight for a regular session. One agenda item to be discussed is prohibiting anyone from parking a vehicle on a residential lawn. The planned ordinance would require vehicles to be parked in a driveway or paved parking space. Proposed penalties for any vehicle found to be in violation would be; $10 for a first offense, a second offense within twelve months would be a $20 parking citation, third Offense within twelve months would be a $50 parking citation a fourth and subsequent offenses would escalate to $250 each plus costs. Once Committee members discuss the proposal and if definitive wording is agreed to; the ordinance would receive a recommendation before moving to the Common Council for a final vote. Tonight’s Public Safety Committee meeting starts at 6pm in the Council Chambers at Manitowoc City Hall.
