A Manitowoc Police Officer was forced to pull his firearm on a man late last week. The incident occurred at a laundromat in the 3000 block of Calumet Avenue, where police were informed of a man acting strange, and carrying two backpacks. Officers arrived to find the man, 36 year old Bret R. Holtz, talking to another individual in a vehicle. Holtz took off when officers approached him, and after asking him to stop several times, an officer was able to cut him off and point his weapon at Holtz. He decided to stop, and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, and several items of drug paraphernalia. Holtz is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of obstructing an officer.
