A man that died while in the custody of the Las Vegas Police has been identified as a 36 year old Appleton native. Nicholas Farah was taken into custody at around 8:15 pm on March 31st, as officers were called to La Quinta Inn. Staffers at the hotel were asking that Farah be taken off the property as he continuously called for taxis and would turn down the ride when they arrived. When officers attempted to put him in the back of a squad car, Farah reportedly began to fight back. He continued to battle with police after he was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, and had to be placed in a restraint chair. Officers put his head between his legs, and stretched his arms behind his back to get him properly fitted into the chair, but when they lifted him back up, Farah was not breathing. First aid was administered, but Farah was pronounced dead at a local hospital later in the evening. An investigation is ongoing as detectives await the results of an autopsy.
