A 34 year old De Pere man is facing charges, after he reportedly hung a dog to death. According to court documents, the dog, a Pitbull named Beef, was acting aggressively toward the mother of the owner on on August 2nd of last year. James J. Faulds, who is not the owner of the dog then decided that the best way to deal with this is to drag the dog outside of a Riverview Drive residence in Manitowoc, and hang the K9 from the rafters of his garage until it died. The owner of the K9 then contacted the Manitowoc Police Department to report the death of his dog, and that Faulds was at fault. According to the report, Beef had a history of aggression and police found two previous animal bite reports from 2018 involving that same dog, including one in which Beef bit Faulds. He is now facing a felony charge of mistreatment of animals, and misdemeanor criminal damage to property. Faulds could spend as many as 3 and a half years in prison, and be fined $10,000.
