Update: The Manitowoc Police Department has released video surveillance footage of the individual and dog that they are looking to identify. They can be seen walking on the sidewalk across the street in the upper right hand of the video provided below.
The Manitowoc Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident. According to Lieutenant Michaelyn Culligan, a 12-year-old girl was bitten on her right foot by a dog while at Red Arrow Park yesterday at around 4:15 PM. The girl was reportedly in the open field when the dog ran up and bit her. She walked home and reported the incident at a later time. The suspect dog was described as a small to medium sized light brown dog with a white underbelly. It did not have a collar or any tags on it. A male subject, thought to possibly be the owner of the dog, is described as a white male in his 20’s to 30’s, approximately six feet tall with an average build wearing a black jacket. He left the area walking north from the park toward Lincoln High School. If you have information on the possible owner of the dog, please contact the MPD Shift Commander at 686-6551.
