The man accused of killing a Lake Mills fire captain has waived a preliminary hearing, entered a plea of not guilty and then was bound over for trial. Fire Captain Christopher Truman died when he was hit after he left his vehicle to help a stranded motorist in January. Samuel Cremens was arrested on a tentative charge of homicide by drunken driving, but his blood alcohol content measurement was below Wisconsin’s legal limit to drive. Cremens is charged with driving on a suspended license. His trial date hasn’t been set.
