It seems like it was meant to be that Greg Enz recently became Manitowoc Lincoln High School’s next varsity head football coach. The Mauston native & UW-Platteville graduate played under late Ships Coach John Dixon for the Pioneers, his wife Sherri was a member of current Lincoln Volleyball coach Mary Beth Dixon’s team at Cuba City. During his time at Sheboygan North in the late ’90s, the Enz family lived in Cleveland and would drive up to the ‘big cow’ at Cedar Crest. He also sat down with the late coach Ron Rubick to pick his brain about football and ironically handed the legendary coach his final loss at Manitowoc. Enz’s grandfather drove back and forth from Menasha and later Cato, to work at Manitowoc Shipbuilding in the 1940s.
Enz spoke with Seehafer News about his new position.
Enz told us he “wasn’t actively looking to leave” Walworth Big Foot where he’s been the past 5-years.

Lincoln’s new football coach also talked about the style of play, of which there will be ‘commonalities’ each year.
As for assembling his staff, Enz told us he’s looking for guys with energy and relationship-builders.
Using a shipbuilding analogy, Enz says he “wants to lay a good foundation over the next couple of years.”
The Social studies teacher was also the head track coach at Walworth Big Foot High School and he and his family plan to relocate to Manitowoc in June. The 1st day of practice is Tuesday, August 6th, with a scrimmage ten days later at Ameche Field in Kenosha against Tremper & Middleton. The Greg Enz era officially begins with the season opener at Bay Port on Thursday, August 22nd.
