The scammers just don’t want to stop. We spoke with Jim Temmer of the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin, who told us that scammers enjoy the warmer weather just as much as we do.
After convincing you that they are the right guy for the job, they will ask for cash up front, and will not do any of the work they said they would.
They will actually paint something on your driveway making it look all nice and shiny, but the product will come off the first time the rain falls. Temmer told us there are a couple of telltale signs that the person at your door is not a legitimate worker.
A good rule of thumb is to not hire anyone that comes to your door offering to do work for cash.
