Manitowoc resident and former District 5 Alderman Matt Kadow has formally Filed Ethics Complaints with the City’s Ethics Board and State’s Ethics Commission against Manitowoc District 10 Alderperson Rhienna Gabriel relating to prohibited use of public property.
This campaign violation stems from Gabriel’s use of a City of Manitowoc email address in campaign literature distributed to constituents. Matt Kadow explained to Seehafer News, that he filed the complaints to “…hold Alderperson Gabriel accountable for some actions along this pattern of acting outside the norms of conduct for an Alderperson.”
Mr. Kadow is a former political campaign strategist who specialized in messaging, voter mobilization and election and campaign finance law compliance. A statement Kadow released included wording that initially seemed strange to the press, these terms were “Them” and Themselves” rather than “She” or “Herself”; We asked Kadow why he worded the complaint like that and he explained, “as previous attempts to hold her accountable in the past being related to her gender, I tried to avoid gender based terms if I could.”
Rhienna Gabriel is running for re-election in Manitowoc’s District 10 and is being opposed by Bruce Jacobs. Seehafer News has reached out to Alder Gabriel for comment.
