A Manitowoc man will spend ten-and-a-half years in federal prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine on the Red Cliff Reservation. Thirty-six-year-old Ryan Witter was sentenced after pleading guilty to distributing at least 680 grams of meth. The U-S Attorney’s Office says Witter arranged for the shipping of several packages of meth from California to a co-defendant in Bayfield, Wisconsin. Prosecutors say Witter was jailed on a prior drug charge and was arranging for the delivery of meth on the Red Cliff Reservation while in custody. Four people have been charged for their roles in the meth distribution conspiracy. Rita Witter, Ryan Witter’s mother who was sentenced to three years and Simon Sayers who was sentenced to 90 months. Tyrone Butterfield’s sentencing is scheduled for April 3.
