Sisters To Open Waterfront Wine Bar In Downtown Manitowoc

If all goes according to plan, the brand new Waterfront Wine Bar will open in Manitowoc on May 1st. Located on the lowest level of the river loft condominiums and Forefront Dermatology building, the Waterfront Wine Bar will feature a beautiful view and outdoor patio seating during the summer months. Manitowoc’s newest bar will be owned and operated by Megean of Modern by Megean and her twin sister, Rachel. The duo began offering a unique shopping experience a year and a half ago at Modern by Megean, where customers were offered a sample glass of wine as they shopped. Rachel works as the store manager at Modern by Megean, and the sisters noticed the demand for wine growing and many who were asking to purchase glasses of wine. They began to offer a greater selection of wines, and the dream to open a wine bar in town was formed. Rachel and Megean knew they wanted a waterfront location and have been working hard to develop the space and make it into a functioning facility. ACE Building Service was hired to complete much of the construction work which has included adding bathrooms, creating a bar and several custom cutouts, and polishing the cream city brick. Waterfront Wine Bar will feature a full bar, specialty cocktails, and an espresso machine for coffee drinks.  Megean noted they are most excited about having two self-dispensing wine machines and a liquor/spirit dispenser. While the bar will not be a full-service restaurant, small plates will be available to compliment the wine and liquor selections. They will team up with local caterers to host bridal showers, rehearsal dinner, holiday parties, and other large group events. Waterfront Wine Bar will be open year round. Megean shared excitement over their opening and that they look forward to showing Manitowoc all they have to offer.
