Dozens of workers at Madison’s Henry Vilas Zoo don’t know if they will have a job April 1st. Dane County is severing its partnership with the nonprofit organization which has been running the zoo. Negotiations for a new contract finally fell apart after nearly a year of talks. The county wants changes in the way money is collected and handled to benefit the operation. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi says he isn’t accusing anyone of wrong-doing, but there are about six-million dollars in an endowment account which the county has very little information about.
