Eau Claire Man Given 1-Year Probation For Mistreating Dog

An Eau Claire County Circuit judge has put a man on probation for one year for mistreating his dog.  Police became involved when Branden Hadt began beating his roommate last summer during an argument over unpaid rent.  Responding officers spotted a dog which was painfully thin and covered in feces.  A vet’s examination turned up sores and wasted muscles on the animal.  Hadt pleaded no contest to charges of disorderly conduct and mistreatment of animals.
