Manitowoc Man Nabbed for 5th OWI Offence

A Manitowoc man was taken into police custody Friday night after he got into an accident while driving drunk. Officers were sent to the accident in the 2100 block of South 21^st Street just before 11:00 PM. Officers asked the 34-year-old what happened he told officers he lost control while texting and driving. He did admit to being at Timeout earlier in the evening but denied consuming any alcohol. Officers smelled booze on his breath and noticed he was slurring his words, so they administered a field sobriety test, which indicated he was drunk. A blood draw at Holy Family Memorial confirmed it, and he was charged with his 5^th OWI Offence.
