Members of the Milwaukee Common Council convened a special meeting Monday to approve the city’s contract to host the 2020 Democratic National Convention. The party chose Milwaukee over Houston and Miami earlier in the day. Mayor Tom Barrett says 12-thousand volunteers will be needed to make the convention go. Economic experts say the event running July 13th through the 16th next year will mean 200-million dollars to the local economy. Republicans meet for their convention two-and-a-half months later in Charlotte, North Carolina.
