A University of Wisconsin student is facing several charges for the alleged assault of U-W-P-D officers. Police were called to Witte Hall early Sunday for a person urinating in a hallway and they say 19-year-old Logan Mitchell became combative and struck an officer in the face. Two additional officers came to help because Mitchell continued trying to fight during the arrest while handcuffed. He was eventually placed in a squad car and taken to the Dane County Jail. Mitchell had a blood alcohol content of point-two-oh and was cited for underage drinking, possession of a fake I-D and deposing of human waste. The criminal charges include battery to a police officer and resisting causing injury. The officers were treated and released from the hospital.
