Royal Caribbean Cruises says it will appeal a federal court decision involving a Wisconsin man in Miami. The jury determined the cruise line should pay three-point-four million dollars to the family of a Wisconsin passenger who died on an Alaskan cruise in 2016. Court records show 70-year-old Richard Puchalski of Salem visited the ship’s infirmary with shortness of breath. He was treated and sent back to his cabin — where he collapsed. The court decided the ship’s medical staff made errors which led to his fatal heart attack.
