Possible Chlorine Leak Draws Huge Emergency Response

A Franklin hotel says its pool area will remain closed until a problem which made several people sick is cleared up.  The Franklin Fire Department was the first to send a crew when 20 people in the swimming pool area became violently ill Saturday.  They reported smelling a strong chlorine odor.  The Milwaukee Hazmat Team was called in to deal with the chemical leak at the Hampton Inn at about 7:00 P-M.  None of the victims required hospitalization.  Some reported eye and skin irritations from the chemical.
