Pairings have been determined for the 2019 WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament in Madison later this week. In Division-4: the undefeated & defending state champion Roncalli Jets receive the #1 seed and will face the Glarner Knights of New Glarus in the state semifinals Thursday night at 6:35. New Glarus is 24-&-2 & champions of the Capitol South Conference, while the E-W-C winning Jets made it 26-0 with an 81-53 out of Milwaukee Academy of Science. Four Jets, including Chombi Lambert, Ian Behringer, Matt Le Vene & Daniel Burgarino, reached double figures. The Osseo-Fairchild/Lourdes Academy semifinal will follow at 8:15. In the Division-3 semi-finals, Denmark, tri-champions of the North Eastern Conference, will meet East Central winner Waupun Thursday afternoon at 3:15. The Vikings, making their 1st appearance at state since winning the title in 1985, carry a 22-4 mark into the Kohl Center. The Warriors are 25-1. Martin Luther goes up against Northwestern in Thursday’s 1st semifinal at 1:35.

The rest of the state tournament field includes Division-1: Brookfield Central & Neenah Friday night at 6:35 followed by Sun Prairie & West Allis Central, Division-2: Nicolet vs. Elkhorn Area at 1:35 Friday and La Crosse Central against Milwaukee Washington and Division-5: Sheboygan Area Lutheran with the 1 seed faces McDonell Central at 9:05 Friday morning, with game-2 pitting Bangor against Columbus Catholic.
