A new gas pipeline running through Sheboygan, Calumet, and Manitowoc Counties will start getting placed at this time next year. This new line is being constructed to replace some aging pipes that first began transporting gas to homes and businesses back in the 1950s. The line will run between Chilton and Sheboygan Falls and will intersect with the towns New Holstein, Schleswig, Rhine, Plymouth, and Sheboygan Falls, as well as the Cities of New Holstein and Kiel. The $50.2 million project will be paid for by Wisconsin Public Service, which said they will make up the cost through customer rates. The exact change to those rates has yet to be determined, as WPS is not 100% sure how the new pipeline will affect customer bills. If you want more information on the project you can click here.
