Five, local and area High School boys basketball teams remain alive in March Madness. The Roncalli Jets will travel to New Holstein Thursday night for a WIAA Division-4 Sectional semifinal against Howards Grove. The winner advances to play either Milwaukee Academy of Science or the Prairie School, at Sheboygan North on Saturday. In Division-3: Valders will face Denmark in a Sectional semifinal hosted by Chilton. The winner of the all-Vikings battle will meet either Wrightstown or Freedom at Appleton North, Saturday. And, in D’-5: Sheboygan Lutheran goes up against Hustisford at Fond du Lac. The victor gets either Randolph or Rio on Saturday at McFarland.
Meanwhile, Dave Mueller, athletic director at Roncalli High School, has announced the times of a ticket pre-sale for the Sectional game at New Holstein. All tickets are $5.00 & will be sold in the main office tomorrow & Wednesday from 7:30 to 3:30 and again Thursday between 7:30 and Noon. If you’re not able to attend the ballgame there will be play-by-play broadcast live on 1240 AM WOMT & womtradio.com. The Valders/Denmark contest will be aired on AM 980 WCUB & cubradio.com. Broadcast coverage at both sites starts at 6:40, Thursday evening.
