Governor Tony Evers delivered his budget address last night and two legislators from Oostburg had a few words to say about it. Senator Devin LeMahieu pointed out that the Governor inherited a $700 million surplus, but “Unfortunately…Governor Evers presented a budget that substantially increases spending and includes major tax hikes on manufacturers and motorists. His $84 billion two year budget represents a 10% increase in spending from last session.” Both he and Representative Terry Katsma agreed that Wisconsin should keep moving forward. Katsma is remaining positive saying, “I am still optimistic that there is plenty of room for compromise and cooperation with the new administration.” Only time will tell how this new budget effects the economic landscape of Wisconsin.
