Two people were taken into police custody yesterday after an argument prompted police to be called. A caller informed the Manitowoc Police Department of the quarrel at around 9:45 PM, and informed them it was taking place in a vehicle parked in the 800 block of North 12th Street. After speaking with the two female occupants of the car, officers discovered that a third individual had fled the scene, but he was easily tracked due to the fresh snow. The 34-year-old female passenger was asked to exit the vehicle because the officers smelled marijuana, and she agreed, but began to fumble through her purse. When she ignored orders to stop, she was handcuffed and placed in the back of a squad car. A search of her purse uncovered a baggie containing methamphetamine. The 28-year-old male who fled the scene was found and booked on two counts of felony bail jumping, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
