Thirty people needed to be rescued off of the Bay of Green Bay over the weekend after becoming stranded in whiteout conditions. DNR Wardens were able to make their way to the group of 29 fishermen and their guide, and bring them back to safety. The group was on the bay to fish from their shanties on Larsen’s Reef. With winds reaching up to 50 MPH, the blowing snow made it impossible for the group to get to their vehicles. The DNR is reporting that no one in the group sustained any injuries in the rescue and advised people to check the forecast before going out.
