One of the special classes at Manitowoc’s Rahr West Art Museum is an Art Therapy group for people with early signs of memory loss and their caregivers. Museum Director Greg Vadney spoke with Seehafer News about the Spark! Program.
Vadney explains activities held on the ‘3rd Thursday’ of every month can range from going into the gallery and viewing artwork and then talking about it, to cookie decorating and music.
Vadney says the 90-minute class held every month at 11:00 am specifically designed with that group in mind. He added, “it’s not a busywork project.” The Art therapy class is free…and pre-registration is appreciated, but not required. The next Spark! Program class is scheduled for March 21st.
