Governor Tony Evers will call for extending the tuition freeze at the University of Wisconsin System as part of the budget plan he will release Thursday. He also wants to let students who were children when their parents brought them into the U-S without legal permission pay in-state tuition at U-W. Evers would set aside 50-thousand dollars to pay for a study of what it would take to create an authority to help Wisconsin residents refinance their student loans. Republican lawmakers put the tuition freeze into place six years ago.
