The 31st annual Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year awards will be announced at a black-tie dinner tonight at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. 28 nominees from around the state are vying for six awards and two area businesses are among the candidates. Briess Malt and Ingredients of Chilton and Manitowoc look to be honored for their production of ingredients for pet and human food, as well as their malt for beers. A local lighting company, Energy Bank, is also looking to win. Energy Bank had a very successful 2018, as they announced their Fussion lighting system, which cuts out several steps in the conversion of sunlight to energy that can be used for lighting. Robinson Metal of De Pere, who also has a location in Manitowoc is also up for an award. John Murphy, Senior Vice President for International Policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will be keynoting the event.
