House Democrats plan to file a resolution aimed at blocking President Donald Trump’s declaration of an emergency at the Southwest border with Mexico. Sixth District Congressman Glen Grothman—a Republican—serves Manitowoc County as part of his constituency.
Grothman says the President is partially to blame for this congressional stalemate.
Passage by the Democratic-controlled House seems likely but would then move to the Republican-controlled Senate where there could be enough defections for approval. The President has promised to veto the measure—if passed.
