A 37-year-old Manitowoc man was arrested yesterday evening after he stole gas from a Kwik Trip store. Officers were dispatched to the store in the 1100 block of South 10th Street when it was reported that an individual had driven off without paying for his gas. The man had gotten out of the vehicle in such a way that his face was hidden from the cameras, he pumped $43 worth of gas, and quickly jumped back into his van and drove away. The license plate was run through the system and showed a man who had driven off from Kwik Trip several times in the past, taking over $800 in gas with him. The van was later spotted at Felician Village, and the culprit was apprehended. The man is now facing charges of Retail Theft, Felony Bail Jumping, and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
