It is the time of year again where is seems like everyone is couching. Most people will sip on cough syrup or suck on cough drops, but Dr. Cass Ingram, the author of “The Cure is in the Cupboard”, has a few other natural options. For a sore throat, Dr. Ingram suggests adding a few drops of oil of wild oregano to salt water, and gargle several times a day. He says that oregano oil rapidly eliminates pain and inflammation. To quell a runny nose, the Doctor suggests inhaling the oil by placing a drop or two on the skin under your nose. This method is also suggested for congestion coughing and sneezing. Ingesting the oil is suggested to battle the flu. Dr. Ingram also noted that wild oregano is not the same as the stuff you sprinkle on your pizza.
