The Manitowoc Public School District announced changes to the school calendar for the rest of the school year to meet the mandated minimum number of hours required by state law. Superintendent Marc Holzman says beginning next Monday (February 18th) Lincoln High School will add 14 minutes to the school day. School will begin at 8:10 instead of 8:20 am and end four minutes later at 3:31 pm. Other adjustments for all students include March 15th changing from an Inservice day to a regular school day—students will be in session May 24th instead of a planned day off—LHS will alter its final exam schedule to a full day June 5th and a half-day June 6th plus all other buildings will have a half-day June 5th and a staff work Day June 6th. Holzman says MPSD has missed five days due to inclement weather and Lincoln High students missed additional days due to the ceiling collapse in September. MPSD will Continue evaluating and make further changes if necessary.
