The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wants people to enjoy the state’s natural resources, including the ice in winter time. They just don’t want people turning it into a garbage dump. A posting on Facebook shows a mound of garbage on the ice covering Lake Winnebago, located about three miles from Oshkosh. The D-N-R says it is aware of several instances of littering on the big lake. Joe Priewe cleaned up the garbage that he saw, which included 41 bottles, 6 McDonald’s bags, oil filter box, work light box, shoebox, pizza box, a dozen or two Mcchicken/hamburger wrappers amongst other things. Leaving litter on any Wisconsin lake is illegal
