The Wisconsin Supreme Court has denied the request for a new trial from a former police chief. Gary Wayerski has served six years of his 14-year sentence for the repeated sexual assaults of two teenage boys. Wayerski had asked the high court to overturn his convictions. He claimed prosecutorial misconduct and deficient defense by his lawyer. The Supreme Court affirmed the appeals court ruling Thursday and ruled the former police chief in Wheeler won’t get a new trial.
