Fired UW Health Worker Won’t Face Criminal Charges

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office says nothing criminal took place, so no charges will be filed against a former U-W Health worker. The employee hasn’t been named. Medical records of a 24-year-old murder victim, Dalton Ziegler, were improperly accessed. Ziegler was beaten to death last October. The suspect in the records case wasn’t connected to the murder case. A routine audit turned up the improper access, but the motivation of the former hospital worker has never been revealed.
