The Manitowoc County Board of Realtors has chosen its’ 2018 Realtor-of-the-Year. The award winner is Bob Nelson, who lives with his wife Pat of 48-years in Manitowoc. The honor is voted on by the MCBR, which Nelson said “makes it especially meaningful because his peers” selected him. Criteria for the award is not based as much on Real Estate production, as it is on service to the community in which the realtor lives and works. The organization recognized such contributions as his 16-years of leading the Linda Dworak Memorial Golf Outing, and past involvement in the Spaghetti Dinner for Holy Family Memorial, Chili Bowl for United Way when he was the owner of the Fat Seagull and promoter of the Half-Beard game at the Y. Nelson, who was inducted into the Lakeshore All-Sports Hall of Fame in 2008, was previously honored as the Realtor in the Community for October 2013 by the Wisconsin Realtors Association for similar work in the Lakeshore area.
