Some Milwaukee residents say an interruption in garbage service has caused big problems where they live. Severe weather stopped the work for several days, with garbage collection at a standstill in at least one neighborhood for two weeks. People living nearby were complaining of bad smells and a rapidly-growing rodent population. The Department of Public Works says it will take several days to catch up. Some crews were out Monday and the regular garbage collection schedule will resume Friday.
